Frigostians are preparing to commemorate a somber anniversary – the 100th anniversary of the big freeze on their beloved island, which was once so lush and verdant… But what if, instead of praying to the gods for better days ahead, they should be pleading with Djaul himself?

Once lush and verdant, Frigost didn't shiver when the month of Descendre came knocking at its door. For ages, agriculture on the island had flourished, inspiring jealousy from some and attention from Amakna, its greatest rival at the time…

Attuned to the threat that Amakna posed, Frigost's esteemed Mayor Cantile decided to organize a gigantic agricultural fair so that her island could set itself apart.

That was the unfortunate tipping point.

Out of all the wild inventions, Count Harebourg's was a unanimous success. His Water Clock was supposed to annihilate the effects of the winter cold on grain crops and allow Frigost to become an even greater agricultural powerhouse! Jiva, caught up in the widespread enthusiasm, decided to share the power of her Ice Dofus with him, in part also to push back the repeated attacks by her sworn enemy, Djaul.

The Protector of Javian's victory was, sadly, followed by a monumental spanking the very next year when the demon decided to get his revenge and spread cold over the entire island and in so doing plunged it into the eternal winter we know today…

Ever since, Frigostians have suffered from chapped hands, fingers and toes blue from the cold, and runny noses. Some have become accustomed to it, but not all. Some continue to spend most of their time praying to the gods for the sun's rays to once again warm their homes and for temperatures to rise. But what if this is the wrong approach? What if they've been addressing the wrong powers all along?

In the framework of the 100th anniversary of the island's big freeze, we're hoping you can help the Frigostians with your entries in a writing contest. Write a 100-word prayer – one word for each year that has gone by since the start of the curse – to Djaul.

If you manage to convince the demon to show clemency and restore the island's climate to what it was before – or if you at least manage to tug on whatever heartstrings he has left – you'll win a Finn Penman shield and a Write emote!

The names of the winners will be announced on Tuesday, January 3 in the comments below this post.

Be convincing!
