After a long week of hard work on the Age-Old Belt, it's time to find out what players have qualified and what concept will be used for the final stage!
1,200 energy drinks and 15 defenestrated tablets later, the final stage of the Imperial Virtuoso tournament is about to begin. Without further ado, here are the results of the qualifiers:
Congratulations to these players on their performance! We'd also like to congratulate all players that did their best with the famous Age-Old Belt, and that maintained a friendly atmosphere while doing so. We look forward to repeating this experience in 2019!
Until then, 25 players have to pass one final test for a chance at becoming the Imperial Virtuoso.
For the 25 qualifying players only, the Tournament server will be reopened on Wednesday, December 5 at 10 a.m. CET (not Tuesday, December 4, as previously stated).
These players will have until Tuesday, December 11 at 8 a.m. CET to achieve the best score possible.
Unlike in the group stage, where you were rewarded for pursuing perfection, in the final you'll be faced with a precision-based challenge.
Regarding the design of this trial, our objective is three-fold:
The 25 players will have to smithmage two items (not three, as we had previously said) while aiming for certain stats. Each deviation will incur a penalty, weighted depending on the particular stat.
Below are the two items to craft, along with their target stats for the final stage.
Ogivol's Helmet
Celestial Bearbarian Headdress
Each deviation from the set values carries a penalty proportionate to the weight of the inadequate or excessive stats. For example, if the Strength of your Ogivol's Helmet is 60 instead of 59, you'll receive a penalty of 1.
By the same token, a missing Critical Hit point for the Celestial Bearbarian Headdress will cost you a whopping 30 points. You may have to make some concessions.
Earlier we mentioned the possibility of registering a beyond perfect entry.
If the player manages to get zero penalties on all stat lines, they will be allowed to exceed the maximum 350 Vitality and receive an overmax bonus. In this case, each extra Vitality point will grant a 0.25 bonus!
Keep in mind that this bonus will only be granted if all other lines are perfect.
Player 1, Ogivol's Helmet
Strength is 2 points below the target, so the player receives a 2-point penalty.
Wisdom is 1 point over the target, so the player receives a 3-point penalty.
Player 2, Celestial Bearbarian Headdress
All the player's stats are on target, so the player can apply an overmax bonus to Vitality. The 10 extra points confer a bonus of 2.5.
Player 3, Celestial Bearbarian Headdress
Not all stat lines are on target.
Chance is 1 point over the target, so the player receives a 1-point penalty.
Their Vitality is 10 points over the maximum, leading to a 2.5-point penalty.
So we'll see you on Wednesday, December 5 for the beginning of this round, which is sure to be thrilling!

The Final Round
For the 25 qualifying players only, the Tournament server will be reopened on Wednesday, December 5 at 10 a.m. CET (not Tuesday, December 4, as previously stated).
These players will have until Tuesday, December 11 at 8 a.m. CET to achieve the best score possible.
The Concept
Unlike in the group stage, where you were rewarded for pursuing perfection, in the final you'll be faced with a precision-based challenge.
Regarding the design of this trial, our objective is three-fold:
- provide a different sort of challenge, with greater demands in terms of technicality;
- reduce the time-consuming aspect of the challenge by giving players the opportunity to perform well within a fairly short span of time, while leaving open the possibility for players to engage over a longer period to aim for a higher score;
- offer the most experienced players a bonus that is difficult and risky to obtain, allowing them to perform beyond perfectly, provided that they satisfy all the requirements of the trial.
The 25 players will have to smithmage two items (not three, as we had previously said) while aiming for certain stats. Each deviation will incur a penalty, weighted depending on the particular stat.

If the player manages to get zero penalties on all stat lines, they will be allowed to exceed the maximum 350 Vitality and receive an overmax bonus. In this case, each extra Vitality point will grant a 0.25 bonus!
