One version of the story claims that Mummy Nova is a former craftswoman renowned throughout Amakna for her unrivaled dairy desserts. She had nothing to fear from her career and no one else had cause to fear, either. Everything seemed to be going well for her… until that cursed day.
The day when she herself was cursed. Even now, no one knows exactly why the curse affected her. Some claim that Xelor himself was responsible, while others prefer not to believe what they see as slander.
Since that horrible day, Mummy Nova has become the guardian of Totankama's Cursed Mask, a treasure she keeps safely by her side after having stolen it, according to another version of the story.
Wandering the World of Twelve since the tragic event, she was homeless with no where to go. But this year, in 648, the month of Octolliard was different. A young inhabitant of Amakna wanted to know more and, intrigued by her story, searched the world for her.
He managed to find the mummy and begged her to make her famous old-fashioned yogurts that he had heard so much about. Mummy Nova agreed, but never intended to stick with simple yogurts. She took advantage of the Al Howin season to use Pumpkwins in her recipe.
To do so, she asked the child to perform rituals on the Pumpkwins she needed. The effects were spectacular. The Pumpkwins changed color and were ready to be used in her recipe.
However, the Pumpkwins new appearance did not go unnoticed and inhabitants rightly wondered what had happened. In order to avoid attention, the boy took advantage of the confusion to leave red herrings for them.
In so doing, he earned the wrath of those who were wrongly accused. The adventurers, for their part, eventually managed to get their hands on the person responsible for this masquerade: Mummy Nova. She was hiding somewhere in Amakna, out of sight, to make her yogurts.
But this is just the calm before the storm. Adventurers have started knocking on Mummy Nova's door, and she doesn't know what's coming…
