New two-part area, new equipment, balancing, class change potion, discussions between the staff and the community on the forum… The coming months should be lively in DOFUS Touch and information is already circulating on all of the game media. Let's clarify things!
A Good Start in 2018
We are deliberately starting this missive with news that should please everyone! 2018 is looking like it will be a very good year for DOFUS Touch because the number of players (among other things) has gone up compared to the same period last year.
And we intend to do everything we can to keep things moving in this direction throughout the year by offering new content, improving certain aspects of the game, and correcting some important issues in our opinion. We'll talk about all this throughout this missive!
To do all this, we'd like to grow our team, and hiring is already underway. You'll be based in Japan and we will support your Visa! What if you joined the DOFUS Touch adventure?
A Lively Summer
New Content: Mount Neselite
As [Kokillette] announced in Gamakna #7, a new area will be available with DOFUS Touch's first summer update. It will introduce you to a new people: the Midgins! Short, very hairy men with strong personalities.
Discover the clan of Dure-Tête*, living in the mountains of Cania. They are led by King Karl Iremo Dure-Tête*, 174 years old, which is very young for a Midgin! The Midgins have isolated themselves to remain hidden from the rest of the world so that no one can exploit their mines. Strange events will change all of this!
This new content will be done in two parts:
- the first part this summer for levels 80-90, and the rest of the Milicluster rift mini content that appeared in March for players level 170 and higher
- the second part will come later for level 200s, which has no definite date for now
New monsters, bosses, quests, achievements, equipment, and maps will be available! Unlike Horrib Isle, this new area will be available at all times, and will be much bigger.
An open beta will be offered in June on the "DOFUS Touch Early" app!
Please note that this update will be shared with DOFUS PC. The theme (Midgins) will be the same, but the areas, monsters, quests, sets, etc. will be very different. Each game will have its own content and each will supply a different part of the background.

New Equipment and Legendary Weapons
We heard your feedback regarding the lack of diversity that is starting to be felt when it comes to equipment at VHL. While you're waiting for the second part of the new content and the new PvM feature at the end of the year, we'd like to fill this gap!
Therefore, before the end of the summer, you'll be able to discover a total of:
- 2 new level-200 sets;
- 1 new level-170 set; and
- 2 new level-80-to-90 sets.
And they won't be the only additions in the second half of 2018!
After that, the first legendary weapon(s) in DOFUS Touch will appear. We don't yet have a date to share on this subject but we're very enthusiastic about the project.

Vulkania's Back
For some of the new equipment, you'll need to go back to the forest or beaches of Vulkania. And that's handy because this tourist spot will be re-opening its doors again starting in mid-July. Don't miss it!
Guild Notice
This new feature fascilitates communication and organisation between guild members and provides notices as well to non-guild members. It can only be modified by the guild's leader and its officers. It is planned to be released along with the Midgin update!
A devblog will be published soon to tell you more about it! After the addition of the Guild and Alliance directory a few weeks ago, we hope you enjoy this new feature.
What Else?
Now let's take a look at several other subjects that have had the community and our team talking for weeks!
The Kolossium
Many of you have regularly reported various issues with the Kolossium regarding bugs or the matchmaking that doesn't work very well.
Know that we are going to examine this issue seriously over the coming months to overhaul the system in depth. Above all, we'll have to wait for the new developers we mentioned at the start of this article to get here. Please keep in mind that it's a huge amount of work ahead of us, and it likely won't be finished very soon.
PvP Tournaments
Still on the subject of PvP, we are planning new community tournaments (the Oshimo Cup, the Terra Crown Challenge, etc.) for the second half of the year and once the first class balancing has been done. This balancing will be put into the game after an open beta test phase that will be offered a few weeks after the Midgin update. Note that contrary to what we announced in Gamakna, the spells revamp is not yet certain for Update 1.34 and is possible to be applied after.
A new inter-server tournament will follow, probably in mid-2019, in probably a different format from the one offered for the Abyss Joust. All the details remain to be nailed down and [Nyom] will be giving you a chance to discuss it in the workshop! The team will carefully study your comments, so go for it!
Class Change Potion
Here too, many of you have been asking for this consumable every day. We had initially announced that we wouldn't be able to release one without sacrificing too many resources, but we managed to find a compromise that should please everyone.
At the same time, we need to be able to distinguish between base characteristics and points obtained from scrolls.
The time savings that we managed to accomplish deals with the part involving the revamp of characteristic thresholds (and therefore spell damage, among other things), which will not happen.
It is still difficult to give you a precise estimate of when, but if everything goes well, it'll be before the end of the year!
Lairs
As you can tell from this missive, we wanted to offer you new content this summer and everything that goes with it (quests, monsters, sets, etc.) instead of overhauling areas and two lairs as was the case with the Trool lairs.
It's a subject we'd like to discuss with you, and that's why a new thread was opened for this purpose in the forum workshop.

To conclude this missive, we want to make a point on the different ways we communicate updates:
- Missive: this will be used to reveal new updates
- Gamakna: we will use the digital magazine to show you mainly behind the scenes of a project, or a background of an update... in short, interesting tidbits!
- Ankama Live: apart from a few technical issues, we are generally satisfied with our first live broadcast! This format will also be used to offer you bonuses and to present upcoming content. And sometimes, to reveal spoilers (intended or not!). We're taking this opportunity to inform you that the stream originally planned last week will be broadcasted next week.
