Final Stage Rules

  • Teams that advance to the final phase of the tournament will compete in a single-elimination format.
  • A draw can no longer occur in this phase
  • All matches will be played in best of three (BO3) games

Maps will be selected with a referee, using a draft system:

First game

  • The referee selects a random captain
  • That captain eliminates a map from six (6) available maps
  • The opposing captain eliminates a map in turn
  • This process continues until one (1) map remains, on which the first match will take place

Second game

  • The team that lost the first game selects the map of their choice

Third game, if necessary

  • The draft system will be used again with the remaining unused maps
  • The team that lost the second game decides whether they want to pick first or not

After each game, teams have the right to a 15 minute break before starting the next game. They can also change their equipment at this time.

The "pause" command may be requested by the players to the match referee in the case of a bug, and the organizers will then consult each other to determine whether to restart or continue the match. Each team is allowed 15 minutes of break time spread over the entirety of their BO3 match; any inappropriate requests to pause the match may be sanctioned. The pause command is activated at the end of the active player's turn.

Teams that advances to the quarterfinals must make sure that they are available during the two scheduled time slots (Thursday, May 10 and Friday, May 11).

Teams that advances to the semi-finals and finals must be available during the scheduled time slots. If the 1:00 PM match ends later than expected, the 4:00 PM match may be pushed back later in the day.

See you tomorrow at 8:00 PM (Paris time), for the continuation of the Abyss Joust Tournament!
