Protecting your account is essential. The quality of your gaming experience depends on it. Not long ago, we announced the imminent introduction of changes to enhance your security. Now it's time for you to get it all updated!
If you remember, a month ago, a post appeared asking you to enhance your account's security with two-factor authentication, also known as 2FA. This update to your account's security system, which has been effective since November 14, necessarily entails a few adjustments.
Discontinuation of the Authenticator
After many years of loyal service, Ankama Authenticator will finally be retired on Monday, January 15, 2024.
Please be aware that in anticipation of this date, we have now made it impossible for anyone to download the app and for those who already have it to add an account.
What Can You Do?
For optimal protection, we recommend that you activate both these technologies for your Ankama accounts:
- Email authentication method
- Mobile two-factor authentication app
Those who haven't opted for two-factor authentication will probably be wondering what will happen to their accounts when the Authenticator is discontinued.
For them, the email authentication method will take over from Monday, January 15. As a reminder, this method protects your account by asking you for a security code every time you log in from a new device. The code is sent to the email address linked to the account. So, make sure yours is correct!
If, like us, you think two locks are harder to pick than one, don't hesitate for a second, and opt for two-factor authentication!
