Was this your first Ascension? If not, what's your track record?
Reservada: No, the first ascension I did was in 2019. I've participated in multiple rotations, but this was my second time trying to take the inter-server crown with Bexerro. In the previous rotation, we reached the top 5, and that left us wanting more. So we wanted to repeat the experience to be able to perform better.
Bexerro: If I'm not mistaken, I think this is my fifth rotation. But it's only the second rotation where we tried to get as many points as possible.
What did you think of this rotation of Ascension Island?
Reservada: I had a lot of fun, and there were some difficult challenges (worthy of the ascension). It took patience and perseverance to reach 100% on many floors, considering the changes made to certain classes, and resistance being capped at 35%. That said, we did a good job managing to beat the record for number of points.
Bexerro: It was actually quite fun – some challenges were tricky and made the experience even more interesting. Other ones gave us a really hard time, which we could've spent more time on to improve our score.
What's your favorite memory from Ascension?
Reservada: One of my favorite memories is of beating Ulkhan (on floor 100) for the first time, without using a guide or getting help from other players. On top of that, of course, was recently winning the inter-server crown with 38,470 points.
Bexerro: The first thing that pops in my head are the times I had with players, whether sharing tips, strategies, or whatever else. I had some great times thanks to them.
What was the hardest part of this Ascension Island rotation for you?
Reservada: The hardest part for us was the 25th floor, the one with the Tanukouï San dungeon keeper, because of the complexity of the challenges and the monsters' characteristics. We put in a lot of attempts at completing all the challenges, but since we ran out of time, we only hit 95% of the floor's points.
Bexerro: Without a doubt, for me the trickiest part of this rotation was the Tanukouï San dungeon keeper. The combat mechanic and the challenges made it a long, complicated fight, and concentration was key to avoid making mistakes.
What advice would you give to players who want to go for an Ascension?
Reservada: I would advise everyone to keep calm and be persistent, especially for those who want to get good scores. On the other hand, I encourage you to fight all the dungeon keepers to understand how they work and get to know them inside out.
Bexerro: My mantra at the start of each room is "persist, persist, persist, and never give up".
Final thoughts?
Reservada: I'd like to congratulate and thank the players who took part in this rotation. I think it'd be good to improve the rewards to motivate more teams to make their way up Ascension Island. Finally, a shout-out to the whole community, especially members of the guild RADIOHEAD and my friend KriminallTouch who invited me to play DOFUS Touch. See you in the next rotation, and here's hoping my good luck doesn't go away.
Bexerro: I encourage you all to try – this content is really entertaining and lets you understand your characters better, get out of your comfort zone, and explore new combinations of equipment. I'd also like to give a shout-out to everyone in the guild RADIOHEAD, which I'm proud to belong to, and a special thanks to my game partner Reservada. WHAT A BLESSING!
