We caught up with Kokotiew – a Iopette on the Terra Cogita server and winner of Miss World of Twelve 2023, Touch Edition.
Can you introduce yourself to the readers and tell us about your character and server?
Kokotiew, Iopette from the guild Shurima' on Terra Cogita, which I've played for almost 1 year (I started as a Sadida). I've been in DOFUS Touch for about 4 years now, and it's my first DOFUS game.
Let's talk about skins: How did you discover this aspect of the game, and what drew you to it? Do you make them regularly?
I mainly discovered it through news on Discord and by word-of-mouth. I've always liked making nice-looking skins. Since learning about attire and the Skinator, I've changed skins really often, especially since the new Elite Bonus Pack that offers unlimited color changes.
I'm so glad that pack exists, by the way – as skin fans, we couldn't have asked for more!
Do you have a skin that you're particularly proud of or that you'd have liked to use for the contest, for example?
I really like my current skin – it's definitely not the most original, but I feel like it works.
I also liked the skin I did in the second phase of the contest!
Besides skins, what aspect of DOFUS Touch do you thrive in the most?
I've done a lot of PvP – that's the aspect I like most. Though I've been kind of neglecting it to go farm for legendary weapons, haha! I got two of them before the big update!
Let's go back to the contest that you won and that made an impression on players.
Why did you decide to enter M&M 2023? What inspired you to do so?
I was really involved in the skin contests held on the DOFUS Touch Discord, and when I saw that the Miss & Mister World of Twelve was open, I didn't hesitate for a second. Being a fan of skins in the game, it only made sense for me to enter.
What was your favorite round out of all three?
Phase 2: "Get Down to Work". I really liked doing that one!
You were saying earlier that you loved the rendering of your skin in the second round. Could you explain your choice of items and colors, and maybe what inspired you?
The hunter theme was one choice I liked a lot. I tried to have as many matching items as possible to keep it cohesive. I thought the Nelween cloak matched the rest of it well, especially the theme chosen, and the shield in particular really fit with the map and the skin!
What do you think of these kinds of activities and contests? Would you like to see more?
I think it's a great alternative to the game! I was taking a little break from the game, and the contest really motivated me to pick it back up, haha. It brings together a lot of players in a different way, which I think is awesome! So, actually, I feel we're pretty well served in terms of contests and prizes.
Did you find the rounds or themes difficult?
Yeah, the third round, since I was ready to give up then – I couldn't find anything compelling, and many participants set the bar so high (by the way, I want to thank everyone who motivated me to stick with it and not make that mistake). In the end, it paid off the day before the end of the contest, as I come out with what appealed to me most.
Did creating the skins for your entries take a lot of time?
Not really, except the last round, which took the entire week to do.
How did you handle the competition throughout each round? Was it tough? Were you expecting so much of it?
To be honest, I didn't even expect to get past the first round, so making it to the last one was already a lot for me. There were just so many entries, and yeah, the competition was pretty tough, haha!
Is there anything about how the contest is run that you think could be changed or improved?
I think the contest is run very well, in fact. I wouldn't change anything, besides maybe a small ranking.
If you'd had to invent or propose a theme for one of the rounds, what would you have chosen?
Probably something related to summer, the beach, that kind of thing (referencing Kokotiew).
Do you have a quick message for the teams in charge of attire and the appearance of items in DOFUS Touch?
You do great work! Certain attire sets are so well done! (Of course, we'd love to see even more new attire, haha.)
A few final words?
Thanks to everyone at Skiny and DOFUS Touch for having these contests! And see you soon for future contests!
